Neurofeedback Center of Virginia provides a unique program that combines traditional Cognitive Behavioral counseling methods with EEG Neurofeedback and Mindfulness Meditation. Choose a customized combination according to your personal needs. Individualized hourly sessions build on fundamental Mindfulness principles to deepen the Mindfulness experience. Neurofeedback technology allows the brain to use its own information, effectively reducing distractions and enhancing relaxation.
What does NeuroMeditation involve?
NeuroMeditation involves guided meditations intended to stimulate patterns of Mindfulness as brain waves are monitored. Different meditative techniques can be used until Mindfulness brainwave patterns are achieved. Neurofeedback helps direct you toward your desired state of relaxation.

What Is the Alpha Program about?

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Strategies are a powerful combination of tried and true counseling methods provided by our licensed clinician, along with meditative practices coaching.
How does the brain determine states of consciousness?
It is the combination of Beta, Theta, Alpha and Delta brainwave signals that determines your state of consciousness at any given time. Though all of these occur simultaneously and emanate from different brain locations, one of these may be more predominant depending on your brain state. By monitoring your brainwaves as you meditate you can learn to attain deeper relaxation even as you sustain states of heightened awareness. You can achieve "awakened mind" brain-wave patterns through applied practice.
Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention to the present moment, to the breath, and to the observing of one's thoughts without being critical or judgmental.

Our facilitators have been providing Cognitive Therapy and Executive Coaching for over ten years, and have practiced meditation and mindfulness techniques for well over twenty-five years. Drawing on these and other experiences, we have developed the mental conditioning and meditative techniques that can help you maintain optimum states of relaxation and awareness.
