Because Relaxation is Your Greatest Asset

What Is Neurofeedback?

We want you to be well informed and confident about any decision to invest in your greatest resource…your ability to relax and feel healthy!

Our experienced staff have provided Neurofeedback training for purposes of relaxation and to reduce stress since 2003. As of August 2012 we no longer provide Neurofeedback services because we have strong reservations about Neurofeedback use in the public domain.

As professional clinicians we have worked with individuals who struggled because of:

The quotes from the banner above represent the brightest results from Neurofeedback, and yet, convey only part of the story. Educating yourself before you invest your precious time and money into getting the help you need is of essence, especially when considering complimentary and alternative solutions such as Neurofeedback for your serious problems.

This web site is a candid educational resource that looks at the less desirable aspects of the Neurofeedback Industry and applied practices thereof; a point of view you will not get from providers seeking your business.

Neurofeedback is expensive (and usually not covered by insurance), and is also very time-consuming; requires many sessions to create a lasting effect. But here is the real catch: it may not work, and it may even make things worse in some cases! Results are inconsistent. The science behind Neurofeedback is fundamentally inadequate.

You may want to consider these facts before you choose a long and possibly dissapointing path in hopes of "getting better".

For people who are struggling with performance and function deficits as a result of prolonged stress or trauma, Neurofeedback might seem to be an apt preventative option. If you suffer from brain fog, sleeplessness, learning challenges, unresolved anger or sadness, extreme nervousness, severe headaches, ongoing pains, or an inability to concentrate, you might be experiencing warning signs that could predispose you or a loved one to more serious medical conditions. Unchecked, these could possibly manifest as full blown mood disorders, panic or anxiety attacks, migraines, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, attention deficit disorder, irritable bowel syndrome, and more.

Many individuals consider trying Neurofeedback because they wish to avoid medications. In some cases parents are pressured by school officials. In other cases, professionals may not want employers to know they are struggling. Sometimes individuals do not want to try talk therapy. And there are those who seek Neurofeedback out of desperation because no other solutions have worked. Whatever your reason for trying Neurofeedback, be sure you make educated decisions about trying it.

Neurofeedback is fundamentally a physiological process for relaxation. It is not a medical procedure. It is also not a form of psychotherapy, behavior therapy, cognitive therapy, or "talk therapy”. Therefore, any provider who accepts insurance reimbursements may be breaking the law by misrepresentation. While Neurofeedback may be indicated for relaxation training to reduce stress associated with emotional, mental and physical conditions, diseases and disorders, Neurofeedback will not cure these conditions, diseases or disorders
